Jim Furyk looking to the future

While most of his peers have been struggling over the years with injuries, dips in forms or illness, including the legendary figures of Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh, Jim Furyk has managed to keep his body fighting fit, and with that, his game at a highly consistent level.

Speaking to the press, the gentleman golfer said that he has been very fortunate on the injury front but admitted that he is in a sport where it can go at the snap of a finger. He added that if something happened to his back at this stage, it would be very tricky for him to come back from there. McIlroy targets Tiger Woods’ consistency

Former world number one Rory McIlroy has admitted that it is time he stops being streaky and dominates the world of golf just like a certain Tiger Woods did at one point in time.

The two time former major champion also made the admission that he has seen his reputation going from one of the most consistent performers on the US PGA Tour to one who blows hot and cold and he stated that he doesn’t like that and wants to change it. He also moved to insist that his lack of form has nothing to do with his move to Nike Golf at the beginning of the season.

The Northern Irishman is enduring the worst spell of his professional career at this moment and he has admitted that he is working tirelessly to end the run of inconsistency that has hindered his progress since he became the world’s top ranked golfer at the end of last season.

Rory McIlroy stated that people have been saying he has had a terrible season and he knows he has fallen to fifth or sixth in the golf rankings as well. But he did mention that although it’s not as high as he would like to be and definitely not how he began the season but it is also not as if he is struggling to hold on to his US PGA Tour card as well.

He stated that when he looks back at it, it hasn’t been a bad life to lead but he admits he would love a lot more consistency to his game. Rory McIlroy admitted he looks to Tiger Woods for inspiration and admitted for a guy to be doing what he has done for fifteen years is a marvelous achievement in itself and he wants that level of consistency.
